British coutryside at its very best, the Cotswold villages with their stone built and thatched cottages and the rolling farmland.

Stratford Upon Avon. The very heart of England and birthplace of our celebrated playwright, William Shakespeare. Close to Shakespeare's home is Ann Hathaway's cottage. A 12 roomed Tudor farmhouse where she lived with her yeoman family before her marriage to Shakespeare.

Warwick. Best known for its great castle. The first fortifications were built by Ethelfleda, daughter of Alfred the Great but the great castle that now stands was begun at the end of the 11thC by William the Conqueror. The oustanding buildings are Caesar's Tower, built in 1356 and Guy's Tower, built in 1394. Outside, the magnificent grounds were laid out by Capability Brown in the 18^th century. Madame Tussaud's display entitled "A Royal Wedding Party" completes our visit.

Cambridge. The Other ancient university city with its quaint mixture of "town and gown" and entrance to the Fen country where Hereward the Wake defied the Normans. It was this area that thousands of US airmen called home during WWII.

The National Stud at Newmarket

Ely, where the mighty cathedral towers on the island defended by Hereward. It was also a stronghold of the republicans during the civil war and Oliver Cromwell lived there for about 11 years for 1636.

Lavenham.

Duxford. This Battle of Britain fighter station is now home to most of the Imperial War Museum's military aircraft, armoured fighting vehicles and midget submarines.

Audley End. Audley End house is a 17thC house built by Thomas Howard, Earl of Suffolk and houses some priceless paintings and furnishings.
