Travel westward to Bath - the first Georgian city in Britain, built on the remains of the Roman Spa. We first travel through rolling hills to Castle Coombe, a charming village taken out of the picture books, on the edge of the Cotswolds. To Bath - a city of beauty, history and culture. Spend time viewing the Ancient Baths where Romans relaxed, played and worshipped nearly 2000 years ago. Above is the 18thC Georgian architecture, which gives the city such elegance and style, taking us to the time of Jane Austen. Enjoy the fine boutiques and shops with antiques. To Lacock, a village unchanged for 200 years where "Pride and Prejudice" was filmed.
Portsmouth with its naval dockyard housing HMS Victory, Nelson's flagship, HMS Warrior, the world's first iron hulled warship and the Mary Rose raised in 1982 after 437 years buried in the silt of the Solent. Also the birthplace of Charles Dickens.
